EDITING FAQS

What is it like working with an editor?
Great question! I did a whole podcast episode on this which you can listen to here.

I’ve worked with an editor before. What makes WHP different?
We are a team of podcast lovers and podcasters. We are also a team of women who really care about our clients and the world around us. We take the time to go through each episode and feel personally invested in your podcast. It really is more than just audio to us! To find out more about our team click here. Which package is right for me?
This really depends on how “hands-off” you want to be. To be completely hands off and just focus on creating content with confidence, we recommend the production package. If you can handle uploading to your website and creating graphics, but need show notes, then the Editing Plus package is perfect for you.

Why should I have you upload to my rss feed host?
Let us manage your feed! This means we will make sure you are always in compliance with hosts. In addition, if more destinations become available, we will make sure you are submitted and your show is in the ears of more listeners! We will also troubleshoot if any issues arise giving you peace of mind.

How much time do you spend on my episode?
We process and clean all the audio before we begin an edit which can take anywhere from 10min to an hour. During an edit, we listen to the entire episode. It may take 2x as long as your episode is.

What are you “editing”?
We remove Umms, aahs, stutters, restarts, etc. within the style of the podcast. We also listen for loud breaths but will leave some in so it sounds natural.

How do you write the show notes?
Our show notes writer listens to the episodes and writes the show notes in google docs which we share with you. We have a formula we use or we can work within the parameters of what you currently do. We feel this is a collaborative process and want to develop show notes that make the most sense for you!

How do we share files, schedules, etc.?
As part of your team, we can jump into whatever system you are using! We love dropbox, google drive and are familiar with most organizational systems such as Trello, Asana, Clickup, etc. If you need help setting something up, we can help! We have templates for a google spreadsheet or Trello board! After you sign up with us, you will get an email with info on how to get everything set up.

What is your turnaround time?
We typically need 3-5 days to complete an episode once audio has been sent. Monthly retainer clients are on our own internal schedule to insure episodes are released on time. We work ahead whenever possible. We do ask that you are mindful of our working days. For example, if you need an episode to go live on Tuesday, we need files by Wednesday before. If something comes up and files need to be given to us closer to publication date, let us know ahead of time! If we can plan ahead, we can make accommodations.
