The Quiet Podcast Episode That Brought Me New Clients

Ep 218 The Quiet Podcast Episode That Brought Me New Clients

It’s so easy to doubt yourself when your podcast feels... quiet.

You’re showing up, publishing episodes, doing all the right things—
but the inbox isn’t filling up.
The downloads aren’t spiking.
The engagement feels… slow.

If you’ve ever found yourself wondering, "Is this even working?"—this post is for you. 🌿

Because the truth is: your podcast might be working more powerfully than you think.

The Story Behind My "Quiet" Client-Attracting Episode

A while back, I released an episode that didn’t feel particularly flashy or strategic.
It wasn’t perfectly optimized for SEO.
It wasn’t linked to a big launch or an elaborate funnel.

It was just me—sharing what was on my heart, speaking clearly to my audience’s real, unspoken needs.

And guess what?
That episode quietly led to new client inquiries. No big announcement. No major call to action. Just connection.

It was a powerful reminder that trust is built not by shouting louder, but by showing up with clarity, consistency, and a voice people can feel.

Why Your Podcast Might Be Working Even When It Feels Quiet

Listeners are building trust with you—even if they aren't telling you yet.
People don’t always comment, DM, or immediately respond. Sometimes they listen quietly for weeks or even months before they reach out.

Real presence matters more than a perfect pitch.
It’s not your CTA that gets people to act—it’s the emotional resonance they feel when they connect to your message.

Every episode is a breadcrumb.
Each time you show up with honesty and intention, you’re leaving little markers for your listeners, guiding them closer to you.

Here’s What I Want You to Remember:

You’re building something lasting.
Not just quick engagement—but real trust.
Not just passive listeners—but aligned clients and customers.

Even if the growth feels slow.
Even if the inbox is quiet.
Even if it’s not happening on your timeline.

It’s working.
You’re making an impact.
They’re listening.

218: The Quiet Podcast Episode That Brought Me New Clients

[00:00:00] You wanna know what's wild? Some of my highest converting episodes, the ones that actually brought in aligned, ready to work with me. Clients were the ones that felt the least polished. They weren't hyper optimized, they probably didn't have the most perfect funnel. They were honest, clear, and true, and that's what made them work.

[00:00:21] And that's what we're gonna talk about today.

[00:00:22]

[00:00:41] Hello, welcome back to Share Strategizing Shine. I'm Caroline, and today I wanna tell you a little story about the time my podcast brought in a new client. Not because I had a strong call to action or the right keywords, but because I was showing up with real presence.

[00:00:58] This [00:01:00] episode is really a love note to those of you who are listening and wondering, is my podcast actually doing anything? And you might be really surprised what actually leads people to say yes. So if your podcast has been feeling quiet lately, or if you've been pouring energy into it, but having any direct results, or you're not seeing those direct results, right?

[00:01:24] I just wanna offer this to you. It's working more than you think, but it might be working in a different way than you expected. Let's talk about how your podcast builds trust and how people really decide to work with you.

[00:01:43] I'm so excited to be recording this episode today. I am actually getting ready to go on a trip, which I am very excited about, very nervous about leaving my family for a few days.

[00:01:52] I am going to meet my mastermind and I have known them for. Over two years. We've been meeting every Thursday morning at 6:00 AM [00:02:00] and we've never met in person. And so this is really cool. We live all over the country in different time zones. I'm very excited to meet them, but it's kind of interesting because it's like taking this thing that's been on Zoom and bringing it to real life.

[00:02:12] And there is a little bit of me that's like a titch bit nervous, those things come up, those things that we talk about with podcasting. Like what if they don't like me in real life, or what if I sound silly, or, you know, all of those things. That we think about when we podcast.

[00:02:28] It's been really interesting because they've been dipping into that a little bit. And so I've been using a lot of like my own coaching, like, no, like this is gonna be fantastic. You're going to learn, you're going to be fine on the airplane. Like all of those things. And yeah, I just wanted to share that with you.

[00:02:45] I think, you know, especially as work from home people. Doing new things can be really scary. Stepping out of our comfort zone can be really scary. And and I think that applies to podcasting and creating content as well. So let's dive in, uh, to my [00:03:00] story about this episode. So here's what happened. I had just released an episode that honestly felt like a detour from my content plan.

[00:03:10] It was a little looser, more reflective. I was talking about something that had been coming up in my own personal creative process. Not necessarily, not necessarily something I'd mapped to a servicer offer, like I just wanted to share. And I got this message from somebody. They said, I've been listening to your show for a while, but this episode it hit me.

[00:03:31] I feel like you were speaking directly to me, and I just knew that I wanted to work with you. And the thing about this episode was there was no hard pitch. I, I didn't do any crazy selling. There was no mention of a program. It was literally just me showing up fully and sharing a real moment of alignment and insight, and that was enough.

[00:03:50] And so I'm gonna talk about why those two things were enough. I am not discrediting that we need calls to actions and funnels and all of those things, but I do think that [00:04:00] sometimes there is this. There's this block that doesn't allow us to show up fully in ourselves in our episodes. And like that energy can definitely be felt.

[00:04:15] So here's what I've realized after coaching so many women through a podcast strategy, people don't convert because you have a call to action. They convert because they feel something. They feel your clarity, they feel your groundedness. They feel the way you hold space. And when that's present in your episodes, they start to trust you.

[00:04:36] Like even if they don't reach out right away, they are listening and they're circling closer. They're already deciding. Right? So let's talk about what was really present in that episode that got the DM. The first thing was message clarity, like that episode may not have been selling, but the message was clear.

[00:04:56] Listeners knew what I believed in, what I [00:05:00] stood for and who I was speaking to. That clarity creates magnetism, and this is something that I think really comes out of podcasting and a lot of the work that I do with my clients. Is really clarifying that message. Like, what do you stand for? What do you actually want to share on this podcast?

[00:05:18] How are you gonna be showing up for people in this podcast? And so I want you to ask yourself, you know, are my episodes speaking clearly to the people I wanna work with even when I'm not selling? Meaning that the content really is in alignment. This is why I do so much coaching around content and crumb sprinkling and all of those weird analogies, mountain climbing that you've heard me use.

[00:05:46] Because if that piece of it can become really natural, then the selling happens even more naturally, right? The second thing is emotional relevance. I wasn't [00:06:00] delivering bullet points, I was telling the truth, and that's what connected I. There is definitely a trap that I see podcasters fall into where they want to create these really insightful, valuable episodes, which is fantastic, but it gets very bullet pointy.

[00:06:17] It gets very fact based and like a lot of times people wanna hear like, what's actually working for you? What are you actually going through? They want. To resonate with what you're talking about. They wanna feel it. They wanna say, oh my gosh, she gets me. And your people are craving resonance more than they're craving instruction.

[00:06:36] Like I think a lot of times, you know, yes, I do want to know how to do things, but I also want someone who understands me. Like I recently purchased a. I don't know, an email funnel. It was a, you know, a tiny offer is what I like to call 'em. Uh, I think I spent like $17 on it or something. And it wasn't really the funnel that I was after.

[00:06:57] It was, I've been really frustrated with my email [00:07:00] list for a while and I, I feel like I've gleaned a lot of clarity around my email list and I really wanted, like an answer. I wanted to feel like I'm not the only one who's having trouble. So, because when I just bought this tiny offer, I didn't resonate super with it, so I haven't done anything with it yet.

[00:07:18] Right? It was missing that emotional resonance. And I really think that's the difference between like somebody who's looking for, just a quick fix, like a, you know, a product and somebody who really wants coaching, who really wants to work with you, who really needs that one-on-one help. I can think of the fact that.

[00:07:39] You know, my business coach that I've been working with for quite a while now, I think about a year, you know, I started working with her because she got me. There was that emotional connection. She understood what I was going through. I felt like, I feel like, I felt like I still am working with her, and I feel like whenever we chat, she just really gets it because she's been there [00:08:00] too and she's worked through it, and so she has real, tangible things.

[00:08:04] To share. And she tells me the truth of things, you know? And I think that really, that that's what brings me back every time she sends me a renewal notice, right? Because she gets me. So I just really wanna emphasize this because I think that a lot of times we get so sucked into, I've gotta create content, I've gotta create content.

[00:08:24] But if there is no connection, if your people are not connecting to that content, it's not going to convert for you the way you want it to. And the third one is energetic consistency. So this person, they had already been listening to my podcast. They had felt the way I show up across multiple episodes.

[00:08:42] And this moment, this episode just gave them a reason to act. And I think that is something that we as podcasters forget. Trust is built over time. It doesn't just happen instantly. And every [00:09:00] episode is a breadcrumb. And I know that that can feel frustrating because you know, we want instant gratification.

[00:09:05] We want people to listen to us and go click, and sometimes they do. And that definitely happens. And sometimes I book a client who's been listening to my podcast for two years waiting to push the button. You know, you cannot underestimate. The fact that somebody is listening, somebody has been listening, somebody will be listening for a while before they take an action.

[00:09:30] And so, you know, don't start just throwing episodes up to throw episodes up because you're like, well, you know, they're not listening anyways. Uh, yeah, they probably are. And so remember that every episode is a breadcrumb. So. I wanna like pull this all together instead of pushing more content out and hoping it lands.

[00:09:51] What if you shifted into inviting, oh, I love this shift. Like, it literally gives me goosebumps because I think that [00:10:00] I have been going through this shift personally from, you know, trying to create, you know. Viral content that when you see the title, you're like, you have to click on it to content. That really is an imitation.

[00:10:16] Like what if your podcast wasn't just a way to teach but to let people feel you? Your energy, your voice, your intention, that's what creates conversions, that feel aligned. That's what brings the right people in. Not just content, not just how tos and. You know, think about the people you follow on Instagram, for instance.

[00:10:40] You know, I, there's one person in particular that comes to my mind. She's a, I think she has a Facebook ad course, some other courses and the posts I skim over are the ones that are like, here's how I made a million dollars, blah, blah, blah. The posts that stop me in my tracks are the one where she's like.

[00:10:59] [00:11:00] This building, this business has allowed me to spend more time with my kids or things like that. It's that emotional connection that I'm forming with her that actually makes me interested in her product. Right? And I want you to think about that as you are creating your podcast content as well. I'm not saying that you have to sit down and bury your heart open, but I'm saying that you audience wants to feel seen.

[00:11:21] They wanna feel heard. And that really is the difference between just creating content and creating content that lands and brings in the, the right people for you. So if this episode stirred something up for you, if you're starting to think, maybe I don't need a podcast harder, maybe I just need to podcast differently, then I wanna personally invite you to my free event podcast to Profit.

[00:11:46] It's the three part Strategy to Attract Clients. With every episode we're going to. We're going deep into how to use your podcast as a client attracting tool with messaging that feels good strategy that actually works in [00:12:00] episodes that do the heavy lifting without hustle.

[00:12:02] This is not about creating more episodes or, you know, I don't even know, the hustle, all the hustling that we feel like we have to do as business owners and podcast producers. You can head to wild home podcasting.com/live. You can sign up using that link. And it'll also be in the show notes. And I truly hope to see you there.

[00:12:22] It's gonna be interactive, so definitely try and come live if you can. And before we say goodbye, just remember like you don't need a perfect funnel. You don't need to perform. You need a voice rooted in clarity, speaking to the people who are already listening. Trust that your podcast is powerful, even when it's quiet.

[00:12:44] Until next time, keep sharing what's true. Keep shining, and I'll see you soon.
